Yankees rally past Indians

The Edgewood Veterinary Clinic Yankees put up 10 runs in the third and fourth innings to top the Auburn Journal Indians 10-5 as Patrick Williams had a two-run home run and Mike Kuchenthal slugged a grand slam Saturday at Beggs Field in Auburn Little League Major Division baseball action.
Down 5-0, the Yankees erupted for seven runs in the third frame to take the lead for good.
Jordan Arndt was great on defense and went 1-for-3, Ryan Miller went 3-for-3, Wade Andrews had a double and Jeff Masso was 1-for-3.
Kevin Healy led the Indians with a pair of doubles. Evan Bradley went 2-for-3, Harrison Penrose went 1-for-3 with a double and Jake Elia and Steven Beck each went 1-for-3.
Elks Lodge No. 1691 Pirates 7, Auburn 20/30 Club Cubs 4 — The Pirates scored four runs in the fifth and Chad Sheppard led the way with a 3-for-4 day in Saturday's late game.
Sheppard had two singles and a double while Austin Maynard added a double and Chris Cox and Cameron Price each singled.
Daniel List had a double for the Cubs while Adam Fry went 1-for-2, Evan Koley went 1-for-3 and Steven French went 1-for-4.
Kiwanis Club Braves 9, Union Bank Cardinals 5 — Cliff Meyers went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run and four RBIs as the Braves downed the Cardinals Saturday. Kevin McKinney went 2-for-3 with a double and Cameron Gibson and Cody Rea each went 2-for-4. Brandon Coakley was 1-for-4 with a double.
Kyle Matheson had a double while Dillan Powers and Scott Ball were each 1-for-3 for the Cards. Jared Glenn went 1-for-4.
Placer Sierra Bank Angels 9, Nations Rent A's 4 — The Angels used a balanced attack to down the A's Saturday led by Henry Godsey's three hits and an RBI. Luke Danielewicz had a solo home run and a single, Michael Booker had two hits and two RBIs, Jesse Danielewicz had an RBI, Jake Lopez had a single and a double and Matt Ragusano had a single.
Chris Bendana had a solo home run for the A's while Ben Elkin had a double, a single and an RBI, Mike Cody had an RBI and Wes Kyle had a single.
Yankees 3, Cardinals 2 — Travis Wright and Mike Kuchenthal combined to strike out 12 Cardinals as the Yankees edged the Cardinals Thursday.
Wright went 2-for-2at the plate and scored two runs. Jeff Mason, Jordan Arndt, Wade Andrews and Kuchenthal each collected hits for the Yankees.
The Cards were led by John Kok who went 2-for-3 with a triple and a single. Jarrod Glenn went 1-for-3 with an RBI, Scott Ball went 1-for-3 with an RBI and Keith Culley went 1-for-3.
Pirates 20, A's 6 — The Pirates scored four runs in the first and five in the second to cruise on Tuesday night. The Pirates put up some large offensive numbers as Randy Garrison had four hits and three RBIs, Cameron Price had a single, a double and two RBIs and Chad Sheppard had two triples and four RBIs.
Chris Cox had a triple and two singles and two RBIs, Andrew Tuller had a single and an RBI, Carl Lipsmeyer had an RBI and Austin Maynard and Daivd Dimicelli each had singles for the Pirates.
The A's got a homer from Wes Kyle, a single and a double from Spencer Zaputil and two singles from Max Stapenhorst. Tyler Lovejoy smacked a triple, Mike Robbins had a single and Jordan Newman and Joey Jacinto each had RBIs.
Cubs 6, Braves 3 — Steven French went 3-for-4 with three singles as the Cubs scored two runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings to down the Braves.
Becky Pierce went 2-for-4 with a double, Chris Bendarski went 2-for-4 and Jake Carlile was 2-for-3 for the Cubs.
Ben Schallberger paced the Braves with a single, a double and a triple. Cameron Gibson went 2-for-4 and Brandon Coakley went 2-for-3. Cliff Meyers, Adam Reed and Buck Bragdon each added singles.
